Head of Business Development required for a company within the Financial Services industry.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Overseeing and line management of Johannesburg staff and office, including setting the business tone and culture and conducting regular staff check-ins and reviews.
- Driving, supporting and managing business development activities of the team through liaison and in collaboration with the Commercial Director.
- Contributing actively towards the South African Strategy.
- Facilitating strategic development and directing all activities related to the identification and facilitation of potential new clients and business opportunities within the region, and developing partnerships with key private sector players and institutions to improve the business operating environment within their region.
- Attending or hosting meetings where required for key business development activities.
- Hosting and or/speaking at networking events.
- Travelling to Clients / Brokers or IFAs if required.
- Ensure effective client relationship management in the region.
- Ensuring that the team deals efficiently with all new business enquiries.
- Ensuring the team builds relationships proactively with Clients, Brokers and IFAs.
- Driving new business projects and initiatives.
- Monitoring New Business statistics.
- Communicating and liaising with other business development teams within the company, both locally and internationally.

**Requirements**:

- 5-10 years’ experience and proven track record in a business development role, 5+ years’ experience of managing high performing teams.
- RE5 - FAIS qualification essential and excellent knowledge of FAIS regulations.
- Commercial degree preferred.
- Knowledge and experience within the financial services industry, particularly working with investments, including off-shore investments.
- Experience managing a team and track record of building a portfolio of clients.
