**JOB SUMMARY**
Reporting to the supply chain manager and operating in the Supply Chain Department the incumbent will have a a focus on facilities management and dedicated production/services support.

**ABOUT OUR CLIENT**
Our Client builds ships in Africa for Africa. To date they have constructed and delivered many vessels to the African continent over the years. Countries that the yard has delivered to include South Africa, Zanzibar, Angola, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania. Vessel type constructed and delivered have included inshore and offshore patrol vessels, dredgers, tugs, naval craft, research vessels, pontoons, and supply vessels.

Our Client is a recognised supplier to South African Government bodies such as Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA), Department of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries (DAFF), The Robben Island Museum (RIM) and the South African Navy (SAN). The company also builds and supplies vessels to private companies such as Smit Amandla Marine and De Beers Marine.

**THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT**
- **Educational level**
Degree or Diploma in facilities/project management.

**Education/experience**
- 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in shipbuilding.
- Advance level of MS Office Suite
- Advanced knowledge of legal and compliance aspects and facilities.
- Familiar with the requirements of the OHS Act
- Familiar with Port Authority Processes

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

- Ensuring efficient maintenance of installations, business, and office spaces in such a way that they are in a proper and safe condition is available for use by departments.
- Drawing up a maintenance plan
- Assist in conducting annual/multi-year maintenance contract negotiations category manager in SC.
- Identify and inform stakeholders about identified problem areas
- Supervise repairs internally where possible
- Manage TNPA, maintenance and improvement plans.
- Project management of new built facility projects.
- Management of SLA’s of all contracted suppliers.
- Create, motivate, and manage capital expenditure budget for facilities-related projects.
- Identify, liaise and coordinate any necessary tasks within the DSCT Health & Safety Department
- Share information about problem areas
- Supervise repair of items where required
- Compliance with company and work regulations.
- Keep the workplace clean and orderly.

**REMUNERATION PACKAGE**
