**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**SECURITY OFFICER**

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION.**

A Security Guard, or Security Officer, is responsible for protecting a person, organization, or asset in the case of an incident. Their duties include monitoring a specific area, evicting trespassers, and writing reports detailing any occurrences during their shift.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Inspect and patrol premises regularly.
- Monitor property entrance.
- Authorize entrance of people and vehicles.
- Report any suspicious behaviors and happenings.
- Secure all exits, doors and windows.
- Monitor surveillance cameras.

**Requirements**:

- A high school qualification or equivalent.
- Grade C/ Dog handler certificate.
- A qualification in security training.
- Basic first aid skills would be advantageous.
- Physical strength and fitness.
- Prior experience as a Security Guard would be advantageous.
- Attention to detail.

**Competencies**
- Having good communication skills.
- Being physically fit.
- Having good knowledge of security environments and hazards.
- Being polite.
- Having interpersonal skills.
- Being able to work with a team.

License/Certification:

- PSIRA Certificate (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Alberton, Gauteng (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Alberton, Gauteng: Relocate before starting work (required)
