Development and Grants Officer

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Grant Acquisition and Management**:
- Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
- Prepare and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and deadlines.
- Develop strong relationships with funders and stakeholders, representing the organization professionally and advocating for funding support.
- Oversee grant management activities, including reporting, compliance, and evaluation.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of grant trends, policies, and best practices.
**2. Team Leadership and Management**:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of program development and grants staff.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting professional growth and development.
- Set departmental goals and objectives, monitor progress, and ensure timely and quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with other department heads and senior leadership to align program development and grant strategies with overall organizational goals.
**4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement**:
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to foster partnerships and leverage resources.
- Engage with program participants, beneficiaries, and community members to ensure their voices and needs are incorporated into program design and development.
- Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and networking events to build relationships and promote program initiatives.
**5. Program Development**:
- Work collaboratively with the program manager and media team to develop and improve program strategies that are aligned to our fundraising efforts.
- Conduct research and needs assessments to identify program gaps and opportunities for expansion.
- Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and community partners to design and refine program models and interventions with the program managers.
- Monitor program outcomes and evaluate effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement and innovation.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Degree in a related field (e.g., non-profit management, public administration, social sciences) is preferred.
- Previous experience in program development, grant acquisition, or related roles within the non-profit sector.
- Proven track record of grants management and program development
- Strong knowledge of program development methodologies, grant writing, and grant management processes.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a track record of successful program design and grant acquisition.
- Familiarity with relevant programmatic areas and understanding of social impact initiatives.
