Professional Officer
- Development Management

**Requirements**:

- A relevant BTech or B degree
- A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years’ relevant experience
- Sound working knowledge of SPLUMA, LUPA, City of Cape Town

MPBL and DMS and other related legislation and policies
- Professional registration with the South African Council for Planners

(SACPLAN)
- Computer literacy (particularly in SAP/DAMS and MS Office)
- A valid Code B driver’s licence.

Key Performance Areas
- Develop and maintain city-wide land use management policies,

operational requirements and standardised processes and systems
- Monitor on a city-wide basis land use developments trends and

needs, and provide input during policy identification, prioritisation

and development processes
- Assist in training and capacity building/skills transfer in respect of the

implementation of policies, operational requirements and

standardised processes and systems
- Provide assistance and advice to applicants and developers with

management processes and systems
- Facilitate participation of relevant stakeholders and collaborators in

the identification, development and adoption of land use

management legislation, policies, operational requirements and

standardisation processes, ensure well planned, meaningful and

timeous public participation to inform the work of the branch and

ensure stakeholder buy-in for legislation, policies, requirements,

processes and systems
- Facilitate the use and implementation of spatial plans and other

tools and mechanisms through ongoing communication and

information dissemination
