What You'll Do

As a Portfolio & Impairments Analyst, you'll be at the heart of loan performance analytics, using predictive modeling, machine learning, and risk segmentation to enhance collections, minimize bad debt, and drive profitability.

Loan Portfolio Performance & Risk Analysis

  • Monitor and analyze loan behavior trends post-funding, identifying risks in arrears, defaults, and recoveries.
  • Develop risk segmentation models using ML techniques to predict loan performance.
  • Conduct delinquency analysis and assess macroeconomic impacts on portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate with credit risk teams to enhance underwriting strategies using predictive insights.

Collections Performance & Strategy

  • Support the Head of Collections by analyzing collections efficiency across call centers, digital channels, and external agencies.
  • Develop collections scoring models to optimize recovery efforts and prioritize high-impact cases.
  • Utilize NLP for sentiment analysis to refine customer interaction strategies and improve collections success rates.

Modeling & Predictive Analytics

  • Build and maintain IFRS 9 impairment models to assess expected credit losses.
  • Use predictive analytics to forecast impairment trends and ensure long-term portfolio health.
  • Conduct stress testing and scenario modeling to evaluate portfolio resilience.
  • Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to optimize provisions based on data-driven insights.

Data Science & Advanced Analytics

  • Develop machine learning models for risk prediction, fraud detection, and early warning systems.
  • Leverage deep learning techniques to enhance impairment estimations.
  • Implement anomaly detection to flag irregular borrower behaviors.
  • Build real-time analytics pipelines to support risk assessment and collections strategies.

Reporting & Insights

  • Develop real-time dashboards using Redash, Tableau, or Looker to monitor portfolio health.
  • Use Python, R, or PostGresSQL to analyze large datasets and generate business insights.
  • Automate reporting processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide in-depth reports on loan performance, collections trends, and impairment drivers.

What You'll Bring

  • Postgraduate Degree in Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, or Data Science. A Master's degree is a plus
  • 3+ years' experience in data analytics, marketing analytics, or data science.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, and PostGresSQL for data analysis and modeling.
  • Expertise in credit risk, impairment forecasting, and expected credit loss modeling.
  • Background in fintech, online lending, or banking is highly desirable.
  • Data visualization skills using Tableau, Redash, or Looker.
