Customer Relationship Manager - Durban North

Reporting Into: Customer Relationship Executive

Contract type: PERMANENT

Offer: Market Related Salary (TCTC)

The client is a specialised supplier to the automotive and large security industries. It seeks to employ a skilled mechanical engineer with experience as a customer relationship manager to manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Matric (Grade 12) with mathematics

Minimum Experience and Technical Skills Required:

  1. Automotive Part Manufacturing Experience
  2. Strong experience in management of key accounts
  3. Knowledge of customer forecasting and forecasting tools e.g. Turbocash or Pastel and/or SAP
  4. Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables and V-lookup) and Pastel Evolution
  5. Understanding of exchange rates, freight costs, etc.
  6. Strong understanding of PPAP
  7. Own Vehicle
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  9. Problem Solving Skills

Key Performance Measurements:

  1. Drive weekly customer invoicing against budgets
  2. Handle customer queries, disputes, and quality issues
  3. Accurately process and manage customer sales orders
  4. Analyse usage trends and advise on production forecasts
  5. Identify and pursue new customer opportunities
  6. Assess inventory levels and forecast buying needs
  7. Schedule new customer meetings for the sales executive
  8. Maintain regular communication to manage customer relationships
  9. Ensure compliance in capturing customer forecasts with the sales manager
  10. Manage product pricing and customer profit margins
  11. Oversee volume and inventory needs to ensure supply continuity
  12. Keep stockholding agreements (e.g., supply agreements, credit applications) updated
  13. Address quality complaints with corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  14. Process customer credit-note requests per procedure
