We simplify compliance for households through employment contracts, payslips, UIF registration and payroll management, all managed through WhatsApp. Role Description The Bookkeeper will oversee all financial processes across the business, ensuring accurate accounting records, timely payroll, and full statutory compliance. This role is hands‑on and detail‑oriented, requiring someone comfortable working in a small, fast‑moving environment. You will be the key link between operations and finance, maintaining accuracy, transparency and structure in all financial activities. Key Responsibilities Manage bookkeeping in Xero, including bank reconciliations, journals and monthly reports. Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing. Support payroll, including UIF, PAYE and deduction calculations. Process salary disbursements and track employer funding balances. Submit UIF declarations using uFiling and manage employer accounts. Prepare and file SARS submissions via eFiling, such as EMP201, EMP501 and VAT, where applicable. Maintain organised digital records of invoices, payments and supporting documentation. Assist with monthly management reporting and support financial audits. Identify and suggest improvements to streamline finance operations. Requirements At least three years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in a small business or payroll-focused environment. Proficiency in Xero, SimplePay and Excel or Google Sheets. Proven experience with SARS eFiling and UIF uFiling. Sound understanding of UIF, PAYE and payroll legislation. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Reliable, self‑motivated and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Qualifications A relevant qualification in Bookkeeping, Accounting or Finance at a minimum of NQF Level 4 is required. A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration will be an advantage. Practical experience with Xero, eFiling and uFiling is essential. Certification or training in Payroll Administration or membership with a recognised professional body such as ICB, SAIPA or SAIBA will be beneficial.
