Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric/NQF Level 4)
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Fully Computer literate
  • Proven track record in achievement of sales targets
  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience within the Hydraulics Industry

Key Performance Areas:

  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned or designated territory/area to generate new business
  • Make telephone calls and in-person visits to existing and prospective customers
  • Promote, sell, or secure orders from existing and prospective customers using a relationship-based approach
  • Demonstrate products (physically or catalogue) to existing or potential customers and assists them in selecting that best suited to their needs and requirements
  • Coordinate, follow-up on sales enquiries with Internal Sales, Marketing, Management and Workshop
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints
  • Develop a call schedule to cover territory/area and provide daily reports on call results
  • Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services
  • Keep abreast with new products, technology, market conditions and trends, and changing customer needs
  • Perform customer analysis (annual turnover), market assessments, pricing strategies, competitor analysis and draw conclusions with data to improve the companys turnover, strength, and market opportunities
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions
  • Receive queries and compose a detailed quote for customer either telephonically or written
  • Present price, discounts, credit, and terms as per our company specifics
  • Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
  • Facilitating the process of an order by preparing a Sales Order
  • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional or sale items
  • Educate customers on terminology, part numbers, features, and product benefits in order to improve sales and customer satisfaction
  • Remain up to date on new products and customer preferences by attending internal sales meetings, in-house product training
  • Provide reports and planned visits
