Head of Packaging and Distribution

Cost to company:
R R pa. depending on experience Annual KPI based bonus

Working hours:
Monday to Friday 07:00 - 16:30

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • HACCP / FSA / PRP training
  • OHS training
  • Environmental compliance and reporting experience
  • Water use and waste water compliance and reporting experience
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
  • Good knowledge and passion for compliance
  • MS Word, Excel and Outlook competent
  • Good knowledge regarding chemical products used for cleaning and sanitation
  • Passionate and analytical person
  • Fast and efficient worker
  • Selfdisciplined and able to work independent
  • Team player
  • Reside in the area of Kempton Park, Benoni, Olifantsfontein, Pretoria East
  • Driver license and own vehicleResponsibilities:Responsible for the following aspects within the group of companies on various sites:
  • Food Safety:
  • Food Safety Team leader and Management Representative
  • Maintain and improve the Food Safety Management System
  • Compose, update and review documents, policies and procedures in accordance to
Food Safety Management System.

  • Maintain control documents and records timeously and accurate
  • Quality control during egg processing and final product
  • Achievement of set food safety objectives on an annual basis
  • Annual presentation of trends and performance to Senior Management
  • Ensure and monitor effectiveness of personal hygiene, housekeeping, cleaning and
sanitation.

  • Micro biological testing, retention sample testing, ungraded product testing and
general trending

  • Handle all customer complaints and nonconformances, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Manage and facilitate NCR process

Trend and evaluate. o Pest control management

  • Conduct internal audits, also plan and lead external audits
  • Issue monthly trending report for food safety and quality incidents
  • Conduct recalls and mock recalls as needed
  • Plan training sessions and ensure that all planned training is done and recorded o Stay updated with local and international food safety trends and changes in
legislation

  • Occupational health and safety:
  • Management representative
  • Maintain and improve the OHS Management System
  • Compose, update and review documents, policies and procedures in accordance to
OHS Management System in conjunction with the appointed consultant by the

company.

  • Ensure that the group is always OHS compliant
  • Management of IOD's
  • Maintain control documents and records timeously and accurate
  • Stay updated with local and international OHS trends and changes in legislation
  • Conduct internal audits, also plan and lead external audits
  • Management of first aiders:
In charge of first aiders
Ensure that qualifications are always up to date
Ensure that first aid boxes are adequately stocked at all times

  • Plan training sessions and ensure that all planned training is done and recorded
  • Lead all internal and external audits
  • Environmental compliance:
  • Maintain and improve Environmental Management Plan
  • Implement and monitor conditions as posed in the Environmental Authorization o Monthly site evaluations and reporting
  • Plan and lead internal as well as external audits annually
  • Compile and submit reports to GDARD twice a year
  • Biosecurity evaluations
  • Water compliance:
  • Maintain and improve Water Monitoring Plan
  • Implement and monitor conditions as posed in the Water Use License o Monthly site monitoring and reporting
  • Plan and lead internal as well as external audits annually
  • Compile and submit reports to DWS twice a year

Salary:
R20, R30,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kempton Park, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • Bachelors (preferred)

Experience:

Compliance Managment: 5 years (preferred)

  • HACCP: 3 years (required)
  • OHS: 3 years (preferred)
