DIRECTOR PROTECTION SERVICES

Status of Position: 5-year renewable contract based on performance.

Core Customers:

  • University Management;

  • Contract Security Companies;
  • SA Police;
  • Security Vendors/Suppliers

Minimum Requirements:

  • NQF Level 8 qualification in Management/Business Administration with specialization in Security Risk Management or security related qualifications,
  • Grade B, PSIRA Registration,
  • At least 10 years' experience in Protection Services of which 5 years in senior management/supervisory capacity,
  • Knowledge in the security framework, crisis management at strategic and tactical level, investigations and technical security measures,
  • Conducting security vulnerability assessments,
  • Security operations management including emergency and crisis management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic alignment of Protection Services and Traffic Control through development and implementation of strategic and operational plans on security and traffic
  • Develops and implement security and safety policies and procedures such as emergency response and crisis management, disaster recovery, physical security and incident management.
  • Ensures financial and contract management through development of a budget for Protection and Traffic in terms of the University's strategic priorities.
  • Provide team & stakeholder management through strategic leadership and advice on protection matters.
  • Ensures systems management by overseeing that the data are collated and captured to effectively manage the Protection services function, e.g. statistics on the number/nature of security incidents reported by campuses.
