About the role:
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
- Process and administer payroll for all employees in accordance with South Africa's payroll and tax regulations, including compliance with SARS (South African Revenue Service).
- Verify and update employee salary information, benefits, and deductions accurately and on time.
- Prepare and distribute payslips and ensure employees have access to their payroll information securely.
- Handle payroll queries from employees and address any discrepancies promptly.
HR Administration:
- Maintain accurate and uptodate employee records, including personal information, contracts, leave records, and other relevant data.
- Assist in the onboarding process, including preparing employment contracts and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Coordinate employee offboarding, including exit interviews and relevant documentation.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with South Africa's labour laws, regulations, and tax requirements, staying up to date with any legislative changes that may affect payroll or HR practices.
- Prepare and submit required payroll reports and statutory returns to government authorities, including SARS, as per the prescribed timelines.
Systems and Process Improvement:
- Continuously review and improve payroll and HR processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to implement and integrate HR software systems to streamline operations.
Requirements and skills:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role, with specific exposure to South Africa's payroll and SARS compliance.
- Solid knowledge of South African labour laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software and HR management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to address payroll and HRrelated inquiries.
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field is preferable.
Ability to commute/relocate:
