**Job Description

  • This role is open to applicants in South Africa, Australia, United Kingdom, Brazil and Chile locations.**The purpose is to centralise specific E&M data with a respective governance framework.

Your duties will include:

  • Facilitate a data governance framework that outlines the policies, roles, and responsibilities for managing master data
  • Identify the different domains of master data within E&M (baseline asset tactics, refined asset tactics, specs, etc.)
  • Assess the quality of existing master data, identifying inconsistencies, errors, and duplicates that need to be addressed
  • Define data standards, naming conventions, and rules for capturing, storing, and maintaining master data consistently
  • Assign data ownership responsibilities to individuals or teams who are accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the master data
  • Refine processes for data creation, validation, maintenance, and archival, ensuring adherence to data governance policies and standards
  • Define access controls and permissions to ensure appropriate data access and prevent unauthorized changes to master data

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline
  • A postgraduate qualification (Masters / Doctoral degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline would be an advantage

Experience

  • Deep understanding of Master Data principles and practices
  • Understanding of the engineering & maintenance value chain and its key drivers
  • Previous experience as the custodian of master data within a large, complex organisation
  • Proven ability to put relevant strategies and practices in place to improve quality, standardisation and effectiveness of master data, ideally within a resources environment
  • Proven ability to educate and coach colleagues on master data standards and practices
  • Working knowledge of master data systems
