Our 5 Star Hospitality client is requiring a Meetings & Events Manager to join their team. Property is in the Paarl region.

Experience:

3 Years minimum experience in the coordination and running of events in a large 4 or 5 star hotel:


  • 2 Years minimum experience in Managing Conference & Event Organisers:

Working knowledge of Opera and their functionalities:


  • Ms Word, Outlook and Excel.

Education:

  • Matric or Hotel School Diploma as an added advantage
  • Must speak, read. write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to speak and understand the primary language used by the guests who visits the hotel.

Conference Sales Manager duties and responsibilities:

  • Dealing with all incoming enquiries regarding event availability, rates, etc, as well as taking, processing and confirming these events in the appropriate manner
  • Confirming that Clients / Guests have the correct quotes with the necessary confirmation letters or proforma invoices
  • Furnishing all relevant Clients / PCO's with proforma invoices and following up on these, so as to ensure payments are received before their due dates and posted on their event
  • Assisting in the operational execution of all Meetings and Events
  • Assisting with the sales function of meetings and events, by doing, site inspections, hosting of organized company events for clients and canvassing previous and new clients form the Hotel
  • Dealing with all correspondence or communications with regards to the above
  • Responsible for adherence to laid down procedures and standards in order to achieve the highest possible occupancies & average room rates.
  • Effective filling & carrying out of additional duties, as requested by the Departmental Head.

Salary:
R20, R25,000.00 per month
