About the role
Business Partner to the commercial function whose mandate is to deliver sustainable and profitable growth through the pillars of

NRM:
Pricing Strategy & PPA, Mix Management, Promotion Strategy and Trade Spend Optimization.

Driving the NRM priorities requires consultation and collaboration with stakeholders in Marketing, Comex & Sales as well as influencing the cross functional extended leadership team.


Key responsibilities

  • Recommend NPD pricing in line with category pricing & PPA strategies. Conduct annual price pack architecture workshops and makes appropriate recommendations.
  • Set the internal and external benchmarks to develop pricing strategies across categories. Design & document the pricing principles / guidelines as well as deployment & execution process.
  • Development of active mix management strategies, tracking and intervention processes to maintain positive channel/category mix. Lead the annual 9 box review and makes recommendations on discontinuations.
  • Development of promotion strategies, price points, frequency, and shopper science informed instore support for all category / customer combinations.
  • Conduct post event analysis on key promotional executions and incorporates findings into promotion strategy creation. Establish tracking framework of promotion executions and intervene with internal stakeholders to drive accountability to the strategy.
  • Influence annual channel/customer plans with insights from customer segmentation, strategic resource allocation & relevant market studies.
  • Supervise the design and integrity of NRM reporting and present periodic NRM diagnostics to the commercial function.
  • Leading the effort to digitize trade spend management; simplify and improve related processes and workstreams. Lead & implement the Commercial Pricing, Discounting & Trade Terms SOP.
  • Lead periodic gross to net reviews with channel heads to establish sufficiency. Identify opportunities to optimize and reallocate trade spend.
  • Lead the G2N accrual submission & verification process. Monthly sample audit of G2N claims & POP verification in line with SOP standards.
  • Maintain online archiving of the SOP, pricing & deal mandate files, monthly accrual submissions, sample audits & management monitoring tests.

Qualifications and skills

Essential

  • A University Degree or Equivalent.
  • 5+ years in NRM / commercial or finance business partnering / commercial planning & execution in FMCG.
  • Experience working in cross functional teams in matrix organisations.
  • Experience with trade spend management tools, SAP, power BI etc.

Preferred:

  • Commercial
