Job Description:

You will be responsible for:

  • Coresponsible for the development and regular review of the operational Asset Management Strategy and Improvement Plan, adhering to the AAP Asset Management Framework and including a deliberate campaign on Defect Elimination, Work Management and optimising Maintenance Tactics. The role, as the discipline master, supports the Senior Engineering Manager who is accountable for site rollout of the AAP Asset Management Framework
  • Accountable for the monitoring and reporting (and escalation of reporting if required) of compliance to the AAP AM Framework, through monitoring of the progress on the AM Improvement Plan, management of closeouts of related audits (e.g., ABAS) and regular assessment of the AM maturity using the Digitracc tool
  • Coresponsible for employing a riskbased approach to set the Service (Maintenance) Strategy for equipment, by assessing the criticality of equipment types. Accountable for maintaining an Asset Criticality Register
  • Coresponsible for developing and regular reviewing of the Service Strategy (Maintenance Tactics) for critical equipment on site. Accountable for continuous optimisation of these through data analysis
  • Accountable for setting of Operating Master Schedule for all service/maintenance and legal engineering work
  • Provide direct technical support to the operation, (utilizing the technical skill within the functional centre or from external service providers) with the view to stabilise and optimise operational performance
  • Support the Senior Engineering Manager to lead a process of analysis and improvement across the operation with the view to identification of common cause events and elimination of such. Accountable for issue investigations, including the setting up of control charts, histograms and paretos to support such hypothesis, as well as development of control actions and progress review of their implementation
  • Support the Senior Engineering Manager to lead a 5 S process across the operation to ensure disciplined execution of engineering work in inspiring environment
  • Prepare a monthly Asset Management performance report (equipment performance, work management, reliability incidents KPI's to identify developing trends to present this to the SEM)
  • Identify valueadding cost saving and optimisation opportunities in collaboration with other stakeholders (Supply Chain, HRD, Safety etc.) in support of continuous improvement
  • Provide direct support to the Operational Senior Engineers to ensure the availability of equipment and systems to meet the operational unit's business requirements
  • Providing assurance and governance to the management teams regarding the overall state and health of the Asset Management engineering function
  • To provide active oversight of continuous improvement programmes, best practice identification and sustainable implementation as per the asset management strategy
  • Providing for a single point of contact for specialist SAP and other systems support to production teams.
  • Accountable, with the Senior Engineering Manager, for the asset management talent development process within the mining and process operations with specific focus on the development and succession planning for professional level employees aligned to the company and mining charter requirements
  • Mentoring, assisting and guiding engineers to enable them to execute their duties to the best of their abilities
