The Schools unit is a business unit within Siyavula that focuses on selling Siyavula's subscription software services to schools across South Africa with a focus on teachers and school management.
To be successful in this role, you should:
- have a passion for education and technology;
- be a problem-solver at heart; and
- love engaging and talking to people in person, via telephone and over video meetings.
Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Sales and Relationship Building
- Sell Siyavula into high schools in South Africa;
- Build a pipeline of leads and run a full sales cycle;
- Establish, develop and maintain positive business relationships;
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximise satisfaction;
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule;
- Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments;
- Work with the Business Manager to analyse market potential, track sales and submit status reports.
- Maintain product knowledge around the Siyavula product, the educational industry, and factors influencing the market environment.
- Keep record and tracking of the sales pipeline on CRM;
- Ensure updates of sales progress are captured correctly either as your own responsibility or in collaboration with a Sales Administrator;
- Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services;
- Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends;
Requirements:
- Minimum of a National Diploma (three year) or Bachelors Degree;
- Strong consultative sales skills and exceptional closing skills;
- Collaboration on a day to day basis with our customer success team to ensure customer retention;
- Motivated and driven to succeed a hunter with a focus on relationships;
- Excellent knowledge of GSuite and a Sales tracking software solution;
- Solid presenting or public speaking experience;
- Prioritising, time management and organisational skills;
- Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs;
- Valid driver's licence (min 1 year) and vehicle (nonnegotiable);
- Embrace transparency and openness as a general operating procedure;
- Highlevel of proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans
- Experience selling into schools
- Experience in a startup or technology space
- Facilitation experience
- Fluency in 3 or more official languages.
