GIBB's Roads and Highways Services Delivery Unit provides a comprehensive range of services that include traditional consulting services (design, procurement and contract supervision), Public Private Partnership (PPP) solutions and asset management services.

This includes high capacity freeways, interchanges and bridges, airport pavements, rural roads (including low volume and haul roads) and municipal infrastructure.

The team is supported by transportation and traffic engineers, geotechnical and material engineers, and other specialists.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREA (KPA):

  • Proactively source, manage, and influence the ontime delivery of work by team leaders and members
  • Compile, complete and organize tender information
  • Identify opportunities in the built environment profession aligned to consulting engineering
  • Attend briefing meetings physically and virtually
  • Office Administration
  • Assisting with general and ad hoc duties as required
  • Quality Management
  • Coordinate with bidding team on B-BBEE verification processes
  • Proactively manage submission deadlines
  • Track and compile competitor analysis
  • Electronic filing of all tender and project documentation

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualifications_
  • Diploma / Bachelors Degree (Business Management or Supply Chain Management would be advantageous)
  • Experience_
  • Minimum 35 years' experience
  • Experience in working within a Consulting Engineering environment will be advantageous

PERSON REQUIREMENTS:

  • Skills, Knowledge and Abilities_
  • Ability to work independently, and under pressure, to meet tight tender submission deadlines
  • Attention to detail in compiling procurement documents is critical, and the ability to check and review inputs (i.e. Prepare checklist before completing tender documents)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Meeting coordination
  • Knowledge of public procurement policy and relevant legislation
  • Highly effective in verbal and written communication
  • Good arithmetical skills and spreadsheet literacy
