Our client in the global professional services industry is seeking an experienced RAN Optimisation Manager with demonstrated competence with Mobile RAN OSS KPI optimisation, DT Optimisation and management. The successful candidate will help define how the organisation deploys and optimises mobile networks. This position requires a broad technical knowledge to leverage in-depth industry knowledge of the business environment and various technical solutions to assist the customer to improve their network cost advantage by increasing operational efficiencies within their Radio network. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important for this position.

  • Define, monitor and troubleshoot Radio OSS/Drive test networks KPIs.
  • Prepare justification packs for KPI acceptance exclusions.
  • Build relationship with client's Regional Managers for smooth communications.
  • Manage day to day optimisation activity which drives KPI improvements.
  • Verify client's implementation RAN parameters proposed by the client for 4G/5G KPIs improvements.
  • Keep track on new built sites and propose recommendations to enhance the performance.
  • Update the database on a regular basis.
  • Configure checks and ensure regional level parameters are regularly verified.
  • Collate input for weekly governance meetings and show progress activities for regions and ask for support if needed.
  • Get and execute strategic and E2E team's proposal for further network improvements.
  • Provide feedback on any issues or plan changes from clients for deployment in regions.
  • Managed RAN capacity optimisation and raise concerns for having new sites after making sure proper optimisation execution and proposal.
  • Voice-data optimisation specially for VoLTE for better retainability recommendations and ensuring all is well executed by client.
  • Track on change requests using Change Request tool.
  • Share high quality reports with the customers regarding KPIs issues, improvements and new suggestions for parameters and features.
  • Keep track on regional level customer complaints for information point of view.
  • Keep track on benchmark drive test failures trending and ensuring it is improving quarter to quarter.
  • Identifying and highlighting low KPI performance as per drive test investigation case/Feature of interest or optimisation activities.
  • Liaise with and relay feedback directly to the customers with regards to technical aspects of the project, including discussing findings and report presentations.
  • Facilitate quality assurance and control measures for any technical material (reports, statistical summaries, DT logfiles) before it is shared directly with the customer.
  • Auditing the network parameters and remove any inconsistency to improve the performance.
  • Propose new methodologies to improve the network behaviour.
  • Analyse traces needed for troubleshooting.
  • Determine the need for expansions and new sites according to the traffic and coverage requirements.
  • Monitor regional network daily performance.
  • Reduce worst cells by 5-10% on monthly basis.
  • Solid plan for cluster level optimisation.
  • Optimise worst performing sites and clusters.
  • Improve agreed network level OSS KPIs as per the quarterly KPI acceptance target.
  • Improve agreed drive test KPIs as per the quarterly KPI acceptance target.
  • Improve agreed Crowdsourcing KPIs as per the quarterly KPI acceptance target.
  • Always work proactively for new site performance and ensuring other stakeholders are notified for performance support.
  • Track record for HW faults and chronic pains weekly and document it.
  • Propose new strategies to improve the network performance.
  • Responsible for layer 3 analysis and troubleshooting from DT log files.
  • New technologies and feature investigation to aid optimisation efforts based on OSS network KPIs, drive test data and crowdsourcing tools.
  • Traces analysis to detect issues affecting the network performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in technology, preferably Telecommunication.
  • 10+ years of overall wireless and wireline telecom industry experience as a service provider and/or equipment vendor. Nokia and Huawei vendors deep hands-on experience is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience as an RF Optimisation Engineer; 2G/3G/LTE/5G.
  • Advanced level understanding on 4G and 5G optimisation.
  • Advanced and deep knowledge of 4G/5G is required.
  • Strong knowledge in 2G/3G/LTE/5G with deep and strong understanding of 4G/5G.
  • Proven hand-on experience in designing, optimisation and management of the RF networks elements.
  • RAN Capacity Audit.
  • LAC/TAC audit for paging improvements.
  • Ability to analyse failures and drive test logs and execute recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Ability to analyse poor Radio quality patches for regions and prepare short-mid-long-term plans to mitigate it.
  • Neighbour optimisation for mobility performance for 2G/3G/4G/5G.
  • Ability to drive test root cause analysis and optimisation recommendations for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G technologies and features.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate drive test reporting processes and activities.
  • Support for all drive test tools, technical queries and troubleshooting to the data collection team, customers and internal structures.
  • 4G/5G new features proposal and implementation.
