Marketing and Communications Lead

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies for OceanHub Africa
  • Create and manage content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels
  • Develop marketing campaigns to promote the accelerator, its blue entrepreneurship support programs and its portfolio
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and media outlets
  • Oversee the production of marketing materials, including videos, brochures, and other collateral
  • Monitor and analyze marketing and communication metrics to ensure effectiveness
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure alignment with overall objectives
  • Manage the OceanHub Africa's website and ensure it is uptodate and relevant
  • Work with the team to develop and execute events to promote the accelerator, its programs and portfolio
  • Provide regular reports to the management team on marketing and communication activities and results

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 35 years of experience in marketing and communication, preferably in a startup or incubator/accelerator environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (additional languages would be plus)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with press and public relations
  • Competent graphic design abilities for content creation
  • Experience in organizing and promoting events (both virtual and in person) is appreciated
  • Knowledge of the oceanimpact sector is a plus
