We are in search of a forward-thinking and commercially astute Chartered Accountant (CA) to take charge of the financial department and serve as a strategic partner in the role of Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO).

  • Main Responsibilities
    • Financial Leadership and Strategy: Collaborating with the GCEO and management team to devise and implement long-term financial plans, enhance operational efficiency, and formulate capital allocation strategies. The ideal candidate for this financial leadership role must exhibit unwavering ethical standards and integrity consistently.
    • Financial Operations and Reporting: Ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and transparency of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasts.
    • Risk Management and Internal Control Measures: Offering necessary guidance and spearheading the establishment and upkeep of a robust risk management framework and internal control measures.
    • Treasury and Capital Markets: Optimizing the capital structure, overseeing liquidity, and securing financing solutions.
    • Aligning IT with Strategy: Steering and aligning the strategic direction of IT systems to bolster the company's strategic objectives and ensure efficient support for internal functions, operations, and data supply for well-informed decision-making.
    • Business Acumen and Insights: Providing insightful analyses and recommendations to assist business leaders across the organization.
    • Representation on Subsidiary Boards: Acting as a nominated director on various subsidiary and joint venture boards to advance and safeguard interests.
  • Qualifications
  • Must be a registered Chartered Accountant (SA) in good standing with SAICA, possessing extensive knowledge of IFRS.
  • Experience and Requirements
  • Essential five to ten years of experience in a senior financial position within the agricultural or a related industry.
  • Extensive expertise in financial management, procurement, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated track record in developing and overseeing strategic plans, business plans, and annual budgets.
  • Proficiency in implementing internal systems and controls to ensure sound financial management.
  • Proven experience in overseeing technology and information systems.
  • Proficiency in both Afrikaans and English.
