Key duties will include:
supporting the formulation of new products from a technical perspective; interpreting chemical interactions and emulsions; implementing and managing quality systems for accreditation purposes (e.g. ISO, SABS); researching new uses for existing products; managing laboratory and staff; interpreting results from laboratory tests; conducting performance and/or analysis evaluations of competitive products; keeping up to date on developments in science and technology; making decisions and recommendations relative to project result and working with manufacturing in order to qualify process scale up; testing of alternative raw materials and raw materials from alternative suppliers; compiling MSDS's for new products; method development and validation; refining of existing formulations; liaising with suppliers of raw materials; assisting in meeting requirements for quality and product certification.

  • Key Requirements:
  • Minimum BSc degree in Chemistry with at least three years' formulation experience essential. Experience in Microbiology or Biochemistry would be advantageous.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Assertive decision making and troubleshooting abilities. Dynamic, highly focused and driven personality. Computer skills and excellent communication skills essential.
