Job Overview:

We seek a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Representative to join our team in Gauteng. The successful candidate will drive sales of orthopedic trauma implants, build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, and provide expert support in theatre environments. A strong background in surgical sales and theatre experience is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales & Business Development
    1. Achieve and exceed sales targets within the Gauteng region.
    2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with orthopedic surgeons, hospital procurement teams, and medical staff.
    3. Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in the orthopedic trauma market.
    4. Conduct regular sales calls, presentations, and product demonstrations to healthcare professionals.
  2. Theatre Support & Clinical Assistance
    1. Provide in-theatre support during orthopedic trauma implant procedures, ensuring correct usage of products.
    2. Train and assist surgeons and theatre staff on product application and surgical techniques.
    3. Ensure a high level of technical and clinical knowledge to support surgical teams effectively.
  3. Account Management & Customer Relations
    1. Maintain strong customer relationships and provide exceptional service to existing clients.
    2. Work closely with hospital procurement teams to facilitate product approvals and stock management.
    3. Resolve customer queries and provide after-sales support.
  4. Reporting & Market Analysis
    1. Monitor competitor activities and provide market insights to management.
    2. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly sales reports.
    3. Provide feedback on market trends and customer needs to enhance product offerings.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Education:
    1. Matric Certificate (essential).
    2. Tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, Biomedical Sciences, or a related medical field (preferred).
  2. Experience:
    1. Minimum of 2 to 5 years of sales experience in the medical device industry, preferably in orthopedic trauma implants.
    2. Proven track record in theatre-based sales and support.
    3. Experience working with surgeons, hospital staff, and procurement teams.
  3. Skills & Competencies:-
    1. Strong theatre etiquette and experience assisting in surgical procedures.
    2. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
    3. Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
    4. Good understanding of the medical regulatory environment and compliance.
    5. Valid drivers license and willingness to travel extensively within Gauteng.
