We are looking for an Account Manager for Sales/Business Development that will develop and implement the strategy of penetrating an assigned territory in the Government Vertical in South Africa, across, National, Provincial, State and Local Government, inclusive of Non-Profit Organisations with AWS Services and Solutions.

As an Account Manager working at Amazon Web Services, you will have the exciting opportunity to help promoting the growth and shape the future of an emerging technology in the Education industry within South Africa. Your responsibilities will include increasing adoption, and market penetration into small, medium and large accounts in the Education vertical. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate strong solution selling and business development capabilities, along with the ability to show a deep understanding around how CxO and cloud architects speak and think.
This individual should be prepared to develop and execute against a territory coverage plan and consistently deliver on both revenue and commitment targets, and should be able to show a track record of building and closing new business opportunities.

Key job responsibilities
• Drive revenue and market share in a defined territory to meet or exceed quarterly revenue and commitment targets.
• Develop and execute against a territory plan that leads to the creation and maintenance of a robust sales pipeline
• Manage numerous customer accounts concurrently & strategically.
• Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS for Government with specific focus around modernization and innovation engagements.
• Analyze sales/metrics/scorecard with KPI data from your territory to help evolve your strategy.
• Accelerate customer adoption through education, focused engagements and marketing events.
• Work with our AWS partner network to manage their pipelines, amplify their efforts, and drive adoption in pursuit of servicing your customers.
• Assist customers in identifying use cases for priority adoption of AWS as well as best practices and thought leadership in implementations.
• Develop long-term strategic relationships and earn trust within your key accounts.
• Create and implement sales programs and tools that increase performance within your territory.
• Work with customers on training, skills and Proserve interventions to drive adoption of AWS.
• Maintain excellent administration, i.e. salesforce hygiene, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, account plans and other reports.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Direct field sales experience in working with (Public & Private)
- Government sector accounts management
- Demonstrated government market segment experience across several South Africa geographies that drives engagement, and interact at the highest levels of government officials and educators.
- Must have a good understanding of Government industry trends and government procurement
- Substantial technology related sales, business development, and/or sales engineering/consulting experience.
