PURPOSE

The purpose of the job description is to ensure that an employee understand their job specification in terms of the roles, responsibilities, and authorities within We Buy Waste

 

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • Grade 10

  • Drivers Licence

 

TRAINING

No training is required, this is a trainee position, thus all training will be provided.

 

EXPERIENCE

5 years working experience in the waste industry at any level.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

ABBREVIATIONS:

· DDM – Due Diligence Manager

· BS – Blue Sky

· WBW – We Buy Waste

· OS – Operations Supervisor

 

Visit sites as per the agreed schedule per sites. The site visits are to include the following:

  • Do the site inspection checklist in full per site.

  • Ensure the site inspection sheet is handed to the line manager.

  • Ensure that all action points are actioned within a reasonable time.

  • Deliver the required PPE, documents, equipment required for the sites.

  • Assist in training the site staff.

  • Attend training sessions with the sorters.

  • Assist in giving the training on operations to the sorters during training sessions.

  • Continue on-site training of staff as and when required.

  • Communicate with the clients on a regular basis regarding day-to-day operations aspects.

  • Always provide timeous feedback to the clients on queries and quotations raised.

  • Ensure that any orders or requests received from the clients is communicated to the correct office staff for correct actioning.

  • Provide continuous feedback to clients on operations matters.

  • Communicate regarding fluctuations in waste volumes in busy periods.

  • Set up and have the relevant monthly management meetings with the existing clients.

  • Minute all meetings and distribute the minutes per email. · Examine the daily photos received from site

  • Check the photos for bins/receptacles that may be full and require booking and ensure that the Team Leader on site books the collection on the relevant Wattsapp group.

  • Share the relevant daily photos on the site management groups.

  • Examine the photos for any operational issues that may need to be addressed and address it to the correct person. · Communicate with the We Buy Waste office staff on all matters that are relevant to impacting the sites.

  • Bookings that need to be done have been attended to by the Team Leader and booked with the relevant admin person in the office.

  • Matters that may arise with the transporters that come to sites.

  • Escalate problematic service providers to the DDM. · Ensure that all the relevant paperwork to be collected from the sites is correct and handed over to the admin department at the We Buy Waste office.

  • Examine the paperwork and ensure that it is correct and up to date.

  • Address any paperwork matters with the Team Leader immediately. · Manage the site staff in accordance with their employment contracts and job descriptions

  • Escalate any problematic matters to the DDM at WBW.

  • Examine the attendance register for time keeping.

  • Ensure that all sorters are properly dressed in the appropriate PPE.

  • Replace the PPE for the sorters – only when you have approval from the DDM, · Incident investigations.

  • Report incidents to the Due Diligence Manager immediately.

  • Attend to incident scenes to gather evidence and information accurately, complete the Initial Responder form within 4 hours of the incident.

  • Provide the Initial Responder form to the DDM on the same day.

  • Provide gathered evidence, statements, and information to the Due Diligence manager.

  • Assist with the full investigation and reporting process until finality in accordance with the Incident Reporting system and Incident Matrix. · General Operations The Operations Supervisor will be required to assist in various operations matters such as: New Site Implementations; Supervising Oil Spill Clean Ups; Safe destruction of products; Collecting & delivering of waste samples; and Collecting and delivering of various site equipment.

  • These tasks are to be carried out as per instructions and in line with training that is provided.

  • These duties may include any other operational tasks that the DDM may instruct.

  • It is the responsibility of the Operations Supervisor to assist and work with the DDM on all matters that are operational, including the administration for operations. New Clients/Business

  • Source new clients from the Website, Google, Word of mouth etc

  • Set appointments to meet the new clients.

  • Assess the clients waste management requirements and complete the assessment reports.

  • Complete the proposals for new clients.

  • Present the proposals to the new clients.

  • Meet the revenue targets set

  • Do the quotations for new clients/projects and submit to the clients.
