We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Communications Specialist who can effectively manage our public relations efforts while creating compelling written content. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of eKasi pop culture, a proven track record in public relations management, and experience in crafting engaging content related to the public transport sector in South Africa.

Responsibilities:

As a Communications Specialist you will play a pivotal role in shaping our brands Public Relations strategy and writing compelling content to our different audience segments. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Crafting engaging and impactful copy that resonates with our target audience, highlighting the vibrant eKasi pop culture scene.
  • Managing public relations efforts to enhance our brands reputation and increase our reach within the industry.
  • Developing and executing strategic PR campaigns that align with our brand values and objectives.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with media outlets, influencers, and stakeholders to ensure extensive coverage and exposure.
  • Identifying media opportunities and pitching story ideas to secure positive media coverage for our platform.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather insights and information needed to create informative and persuasive content.
  • Conducting in-depth research on the public transport sector in South Africa and using this knowledge to create well-informed, relevant content.
  • Contributing to the development of content strategies that incorporate eKasi pop culture trends and address the interests of our audience.
  • Monitoring industry trends, news, and events related to both eKasi pop culture and the public transport sector to keep our content current and relevant.
  • Editing and proofreading content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Playing an active role in brainstorming sessions and contributing creative ideas to enhance the overall quality of our content.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A strong passion for and deep understanding of eKasi pop culture, ensuring the ability to capture its essence in your writing.
  • Proven experience in public relations, with a track record of successful PR campaigns and media relationships.
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to create captivating, informative, and persuasive content.
  • Previous experience writing about the public transport sector in South Africa, demonstrating a solid grasp of its challenges, developments, and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teams and build relationships with media contacts.
  • A creative mindset and the ability to generate unique and engaging content ideas.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to edit and proofread content for accuracy and consistency.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms relevant to content creation and PR.
