Role Overview

We're looking for a System Analyst to join our Services & Integration team, where you'll help shape the backbone of BetterHome Group's operational services. This role is pivotal in translating business needs into robust technical solutions, ensuring seamless integration across internal systems and external partners.

You'll work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, define features, and support testing and deployment activities. Your work will directly impact the scalability, reliability, and strategic alignment of our service architecture.

This role demands a methodical mindset, strong communication skills, and a solid grasp of service-oriented architecture and API-based integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate workshops to gather and analyse business requirements, ensuring strategic alignment and technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to refine solution direction and define agile-compliant features.
  • Translate features into fully detailed user stories with contextual information and acceptance criteria.
  • Contribute to solution proposals that balance innovation, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate testing, deployment, and post-deployment stabilisation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create and execute test plans to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with agile standards and readiness for PI Planning and sprint refinement.

Skills and Experiences

  • Conceptual understanding of coding logic and practices.
  • Ability to test and access API services using tools like Postman or Swagger.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage concurrent tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to translate technical concepts into layman's terms.
  • Strong attention to detail and strategic thinking.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective business relationships.
  • Experience in facilitating agile ceremonies and producing actionable user stories.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the financial services sector.
  • Exposure to services or integration environments dealing with APIs.
  • Previous testing experience.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification plus 3+ years' experience in a software delivery environment

OR

  • 5+ years' experience as a System Analyst
  • Solid understanding of and experience with the Agile Framework

Geographic Location

BetterHome's head office is located in the Hazelwood region. The organisation adopts a hybrid working model, balancing remote and in-office work. The Systems Analyst role requires physical presence in the office 3 to 4 days per week, fostering close collaboration with team members and stakeholders while maintaining flexibility.
