CAO VACANCY Ballito-based Company Group is seeking to employ a Chief Accounting Officer. The successful candidate will manage our Finance Department. Key skill requirements are preparing and signing off financial records up to trial balance, dealing with SARS queries, VAT returns, CIPC and Pastel.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:


• Running the accounting and financial activities of the businesses.


• Analysis of the economic stability of the companies and provide financial information to other departments, enabling these departments to make budgeting and investment decisions


• Reporting on costs, productivity, margins and companies expenditures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports


• Tax reporting and inventory processing


• Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates


• Advising on estimates for project funding


• Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts


• Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data


• Examining financial records to check for accuracy

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:


• A degree and experience in the financial field.


• Degrees in the following subjects will be advantageous:


• Accountancy or Finance


• Economics


• Mathematics


• Business Studies


• Management

ABILITIES AND QUALITIES:


• An analytical mind


• Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships


• Commercial and business awareness


• Good communication skills – both written and verbal


• A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data


• Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints
