Hot Work Operator

What you will enjoy doing

  • You will ensure that proper serviceability of LPG, Ammonia and Refrigerant cylinders and drums is carried out
  • Ensuring that maintained cylinders subjected to hot works comply with legal and company requirements will be high on your agenda
  • You will perform all administration and logistical tasks to deliver on job objectives
  • You will be responsible for Oxy-acetylene steel cutting, welding, heating and grinding of cylinders
  • Arc welding will be part of your responsibilities
  • Additionally, you will conduct manual tool repair and replacement of cylinder shroud/valve guards, and foot rings

What makes you great

  • You possess a Welder or Boilermaker Trade certificate
  • Two or more years relevant experience, welding and grinding experience is essential
  • Safe use of grinding, welding equipment and hand tools is required
  • Must have understanding of hazards associated with welding, grinding and manual handling
  • Exposure to pressure vessels, receptacles and gas operations is essential
  • A welder coded to a carbon-steel to carbon steel procedure is required
