Position Description
The Retail & Office Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of retail and ticketing operations, including merchandise management, stock control, financial reconciliation, and customer experience. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of coordinating cross-functional teams, analyzing sales data, and implementing strategic initiatives to optimize business performance.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesRetail Management
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of retail staff to proactively sell tickets and merchandise.
Manage stock levels, stock control processes, and make key decisions to ensure efficient operations.
Analyze sales figures, forecast future sales, and interpret market trends to guide planning.
Conduct staff interviews, performance appraisals, and identify training and development needs.
Ensure adherence to quality, customer service, health, and safety standards.
Organize promotions, special events, and product displays to enhance sales.
Maintain awareness of industry trends and competitor activities.
Oversee e-commerce operations, including product photography, uploads, promotions, and resolving online sales issues.
Operations Management
Ensure retail and ticketing systems operate efficiently with minimal downtime.
Monitor sales and profit targets and implement measures to achieve them.
Support staff by providing operational resources and guidance.
Monitor use of branded merchandise by authorized suppliers and address counterfeit issues.
Develop new product ranges and innovative ways to improve customer experience.
Ticketing Management
Oversee all ticket office functions, including seasonal membership campaigns and match-day ticketing.
Coordinate with ticket service providers and creative teams to ensure smooth execution.
Generate regular ticket sales reports and analyze trends for informed decision-making.
Accounting & Financial Oversight
Perform reconciliations, reports, and budget monitoring for ticket and merchandise sales.
Implement controls to minimize stock loss, theft, and discrepancies.
Prepare and manage stock counts, investigate variances, and adjust accounts accordingly.
Oversee cash handling, petty cash control, and casual wage approvals.
Ensure all invoicing, request-to-invoice transactions, and financial records are accurate and up to date.
Customer Service
Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times.
Resolve customer complaints promptly and provide guidance to staff.
Serve as a role model in training and day-to-day management.
Bachelor's degree in Retail Management, Business Management, or related field; accounting knowledge advantageous.
5–10 years' experience in retail operations, merchandise management, or ticket office administration.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of stock control, financial reconciliation, and customer service management.
