Position Description

The Retail & Office Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of retail and ticketing operations, including merchandise management, stock control, financial reconciliation, and customer experience. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of coordinating cross-functional teams, analyzing sales data, and implementing strategic initiatives to optimize business performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Retail Management

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of retail staff to proactively sell tickets and merchandise.

  • Manage stock levels, stock control processes, and make key decisions to ensure efficient operations.

  • Analyze sales figures, forecast future sales, and interpret market trends to guide planning.

  • Conduct staff interviews, performance appraisals, and identify training and development needs.

  • Ensure adherence to quality, customer service, health, and safety standards.

  • Organize promotions, special events, and product displays to enhance sales.

  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and competitor activities.

  • Oversee e-commerce operations, including product photography, uploads, promotions, and resolving online sales issues.

Operations Management

  • Ensure retail and ticketing systems operate efficiently with minimal downtime.

  • Monitor sales and profit targets and implement measures to achieve them.

  • Support staff by providing operational resources and guidance.

  • Monitor use of branded merchandise by authorized suppliers and address counterfeit issues.

  • Develop new product ranges and innovative ways to improve customer experience.

Ticketing Management

  • Oversee all ticket office functions, including seasonal membership campaigns and match-day ticketing.

  • Coordinate with ticket service providers and creative teams to ensure smooth execution.

  • Generate regular ticket sales reports and analyze trends for informed decision-making.

Accounting & Financial Oversight

  • Perform reconciliations, reports, and budget monitoring for ticket and merchandise sales.

  • Implement controls to minimize stock loss, theft, and discrepancies.

  • Prepare and manage stock counts, investigate variances, and adjust accounts accordingly.

  • Oversee cash handling, petty cash control, and casual wage approvals.

  • Ensure all invoicing, request-to-invoice transactions, and financial records are accurate and up to date.

Customer Service

  • Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times.

  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and provide guidance to staff.

  • Serve as a role model in training and day-to-day management.

Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Retail Management, Business Management, or related field; accounting knowledge advantageous.

  • 5–10 years' experience in retail operations, merchandise management, or ticket office administration.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of stock control, financial reconciliation, and customer service management.
