Purpose of the Role

Lead a High-Performance Technician Team

Ground 2 Tap is looking for a 
hands-on Field Manager
 who thrives on structure, coaching, and consistent field delivery. This isn't a behind-the-desk coordination role — it's about 
leading from the front
, ensuring every installation and service job is completed safely, efficiently, and to our exacting standards.

As the Field Manager, you'll oversee a pod of 3–5 technicians, setting the tone for discipline, teamwork, and high performance. You'll bring visibility and accountability to the field, ensuring our jobs are completed 
Right First Time
 and that documentation, tool control, and pace are always on point.

 
Your Core Mission

  • Be present and visible on-site across 2–3 active projects each day.
  • Run morning huddles, align the team, and keep execution tight and focused.
  • Supervise work quality, enforce build standards, and coach in real time.
  • Support technicians with field guidance — stepping in only when needed.
  • Keep communication flowing between the team, clients, and leadership.

 
Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead by example with discipline, punctuality, and professionalism.
  • Deliver live, hands-on coaching to Junior and Senior Technicians.
  • Identify skill gaps and feed insights into technician development plans.
  • Review daily task updates in ClickUp and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the Technician Coach in developing future team leads

 
Operations & Oversight

  • Translate job schedules into actionable field plans.
  • Manage vehicle and tool readiness — ensure everything's clean, stocked, and working.
  • Report issues, incidents, or damage promptly and transparently.
  • Join client WhatsApp groups to track progress and represent Ground 2 Tap professionally.

 
What You'll Need to Succeed

  • 3+ years managing field-based teams (plumbing, electrical, construction, or similar).
  • Proven experience coaching technicians and driving site delivery performance.
  • Solid understanding of piping systems (PVC, HDPE, copper).
  • Strong communication skills — calm, clear, and assertive.

  • Valid South African driver's license.

  • Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with structured field reporting and performance rhythms.
  • Experience in water treatment, pump systems, or filtration.
  • Trade qualification (Plumbing, Electrical, or Mechanical)
