Key Responsibilities:Business Development & Sales GrowthAcquire new insurance brokers, advisors, and partners to distribute Netstar's telematics-enabled insurance products.Grow the contribution of existing partners by deepening engagement and upselling Netstar solutions.Drive consistent pipeline development and conversion to meet business acquisition and retention targets.Market Expansion & Partner EngagementExpand reach within the assigned region (e.g., Coastal excluding Western Cape) by onboarding new brokers and financial advisors.Reactivate non-supporting or dormant partners to improve contribution.Collaborate with insurance companies (e.g., Sanlam, ABSA, Discovery, MiWay) to strengthen Netstar's value proposition within their insurance offerings.Strategy & PlanningDevelop and execute a regional sales plan aligned with Netstar's insurance distribution strategy.Identify growth opportunities within insurance value chains and emerging distribution channels.Provide market intelligence (competitor analysis, trends, customer insights) to inform innovation and pricing strategies.Stakeholder ManagementBuild strong partnerships with brokers, underwriters, and distribution managers to maximize Netstar's penetration into insurance portfolios.Work closely with internal teams (sales, fitment operations, product, and marketing) to deliver end-to-end client and partner solutions.Represent Netstar Insurance at broker forums, roadshows, and insurance conferences.Operational & Performance ManagementMonitor fitment volumes, turnaround times (TATs), and ensure partner satisfaction.Drive broker/partner onboarding, training, and compliance in line with FAIS and insurance regulatory requirements.Track, measure, and report on business performance against set KPIs (new partners signed, volume growth, retention).Key Competencies & SkillsStrong understanding of insurance distribution models (brokers, bancassurance, direct).Knowledge of telematics and its application in insurance underwriting, risk mitigation, and customer value.Excellent relationship management and business negotiation skills.Data-driven approach with ability to interpret sales metrics, volumes, and fitment performance.Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.Resilient, entrepreneurial, and goal-driven.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree/diploma in Business, Sales, Insurance, or related field.5–7 years' proven business development or sales experience within financial services/insurance.Exposure to telematics, insurance technology (InsurTech), or broker distribution advantageous.Track record in managing broker networks and achieving growth in insurance distribution.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively across the assigned region.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)New broker/advisor acquisition (measured quarterly).Increase in insurance sales volumes linked to Netstar telematics.Growth in active partner contributions (measured as a percentage of portfolio).Retention and reactivation of dormant partners.Improvement in fitment turnaround times and customer satisfaction.Achievement of regional revenue and profitability targets.Budget & Target Framework for Netstar Insurance BDM1. Broker/Partner TargetsNew Partner Acquisition:Example: 15–20 new active brokers/advisors onboarded annually.Reactivated Partners:Example: 10 dormant brokers reactivated and contributing per quarter.B. Sales/Revenue TargetsInsurance Policies Sold (via brokers/advisors):Example: 400–500 new policies per month in region, scaling up quarterly.Fitment Volumes (linked to insurance sales):Example: 350–400 new fitments per month (initial baseline, growing by 10–15% per quarter).Revenue Contribution:Example: BDM responsible for R40m – R50m annual written premium (gross contribution from insurance-linked sales).C.
