Directive:
This position is initially for internal sales with the prospect to grow into external sales. Growth will be purely dependant on the individuals drive and willingness to learn and succeed. The candidate is expected to actively establish and promote the company's brand within the industry through direct sales, partnerships with resellers and distributors, building networks, responding to leads, managing customers and achieving sales targets, locally, regionally and in Africa (as relevant). A structured reporting system will be established to provide regular updates on sales performance, with key performance indicators (KPIs) implemented to effectively track and evaluate individual contributions.
Responsibilities:
As the internal fire sales representative, the candidate will play a key role in sales and administrative tasks to ensuring driving revenue and building client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
· Client Relationship Management
· Build, develop, and manage a client portfolio by maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients.
· Retain existing customers by understanding their needs, offering tailored advice on Fire Pump Sets, and fostering loyalty.
· Maintain and manage customer expectations by aligning offerings with their priorities and communicating proactively.
· Resolve customer complaints and queries by coordinating with internal stakeholders and providing timely feedback.
· Understand business development needs of customers and present mutually beneficial solutions.
· Sales and Business Development
· Generate leads and engage potential customers through calls, emails, and in-person meetings.
· Evaluate market opportunities and build networks to secure sales aligned with company strategy and targets.
· Achieve sales targets by identifying opportunities, preparing documentation (tenders, quotes, proposals), and closing deals.
· Conduct sales negotiations by presenting competitive advantages and addressing client concerns.
· Present products and services effectively to close sales and secure long-term contracts
· Sales Process and Administration
· Draft all required sales documentation in collaboration with Estimations and Operations, ensuring compliance and branding standards.
· Complete the sales process and documentation within quality standards and deadlines
· Manage the payment cycle by tracking invoicing and ensuring timely billing (when required).
· Address after-sales support by resolving issues and providing feedback within deadlines.
· Keep accurate records of sales activities, pipelines, and performance metrics in CRM systems (Salesforce, SharePoint, SAP).
· Complete sales reports and CRM updates daily, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
· Internal Collaboration and Market Intelligence
· Collaborate with internal departments (Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance, Marketing, Customer Support) to ensure client satisfaction.
· Stay informed on industry trends, product updates, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
Must-have:
- A minimum of a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent is required.
- Must have a thorough understanding of fire protection safety regulations applicable to pump sets and pump stations, including ASIB, NFPA, and FM/UL standards.
- Demonstrated success with 2-3 years' experience in the fire industry servicing clients across the mining, industrial, energy, agriculture and related sectors.
- Understand pump fundamentals, with the ability to do pump selections based on pump room requirements to deliver customized turnkey solutions.
· Evaluate customers' pump needs and deliver customized solutions using the company's range of products and services.
· Conduct accurate cost estimation and manage budgets effectively, resulting in a finalized quotation.
· Prompt preparation, compilation, and submission of quotations to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
· Written communication, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Verbal communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with clients and understand their needs.
- Negotiate and close sales to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repetitive business.
- Proficiency in using CRM software to manage client information, track leads, and monitor sales performance and MS Office software to do daily tasks.
- Strong self-motivation with result and goal-oriented mindset, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent time management skills to function effectively in all facets of working environment.
- Adaptability to adjust sales tactics based on client feedback and evolving market demands.
Nice-to-have:
- A certificate or national diploma in fire, sales, marketing, mechanical engineering, or a related field will be an advantage.
- In the absence of a relevant qualification, minimum 4-6 years of experience in the relevant field and at the relevant level will be considered.
· Electrical / Electrical Panel experience or background to the scope's requirements.
· Sales presentations skills and product demonstrations to potential customers.
· Familiarity with industry-specific sales practices.

- Deliver exceptional customer service, earning positive client feedback and reinforcing the company's reputation.
- Actively contribute to team objectives and maintain accurate CRM records to ensure accessible and reliable information across departments.
