FINANCE Head - Debt Management Services Liaison

Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree, BTech, Advanced Diploma

(Preferably in Finance Field)

  • MFMA Municipal Minimum Competency is required.

Alternatively, the successful candidate will be expected to

attain such within 18 months after appointment

  • Up to 8 years relevant experience required in a

Revenue/Debtor environment of which at least 5 years in a

senior position managing staff

  • A sound knowledge of the relevant legislation, By-laws,

policies and procedures relating to the Revenue and Finance

environment

  • In depth understanding of the Local Government processes

with regard to the billing and collection of monies pertaining

to municipal accounts

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications with Advanced

Excel

  • Project Management competence
  • Presentation and report writing skills
  • A valid EB/B/C drivers licence

Key Performance Areas

  • The overall management of the Service Liaison section within

the Debt Management portfolio and to give guidance on all

functions and activities in respect of Disconnection/Restriction,

PPM, Dunning Locks, Write off against Bad debt provision,

Manage Final accounts, Sundry debtor's accounts, CIDS and

Hand over to legal section.

  • Identifying short and long term objectives and priorities for the

Service Liaison Section

  • Managing research into best practices associated with debt

collections

  • Manage the analysis and aligning the operating capacity and

capabilities of the Service Liaison Section

  • Compiling reports and doing presentations to Top 5, Branch,

Service Directorates on the progress, strategies and initiatives

of Service Liaison Section

  • Manage the implementation of the City policies and

programmes associated with the financial and debt
