About the Role
We are seeking a Finance Administrator to join our growing team and provide vital support to one of our UK-based partners. This role requires someone with excellent technical, organisational, and communication skills who thrives in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly.
Youll work across a variety of projects, supporting finance operations, streamlining processes, and ensuring accurate data management. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow particularly within finance, accounting, and data-driven operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial administration and project-related tasks across multiple clients and business units.
- Record and process client and internal transactions, including vendor invoices, billings, collections, and payments.
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely invoicing, payment processing, credit note management, and maintenance of accurate ageing schedules.
- Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, client trust/escrow accounts, and intercompany balances while maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring data integrity across all franchise entities.
- Prepare and analyse monthly and quarterly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements).
- Support performance reporting, variance analysis, and KPI tracking for franchise and SME operations.
- Assist senior finance staff with budget vs. actual reviews, cash flow forecasting, and scenario modelling.
- Support VAT, payroll tax, and other statutory filings in compliance with UK requirements.
- Prepare and maintain financial and operational reports using
advanced Excel tools
and contribute to continuous process improvements. - Maintain accounting and practice management systems (preferably
IRIS
) and ensure data accuracy and consistency. - Support preparation of
management information packs
and internal reporting dashboards. - Respond to client queries, coordinate document requests, and maintain strong professional relationships with franchise owners and management teams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including client managers and partners, to identify issues, streamline workflows, and support audit or review engagements.
- Participate in
ad hoc projects
and take on additional responsibilities as the business evolves.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
- Strong reconciliation discipline, especially across multiple business units or entities.
- Experience with
franchise or multi-location business accounting
is highly desirable. - Proficiency in accounting software IRIS, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks and Excel .
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Effective time management across multiple client deadlines.
- Confident communication skills with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical mindset.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling financial data.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- 2–5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations.
- Prior work in a
professional services or accounting firm
environment is advantageous. - Direct exposure to franchise, retail, or multi-unit operations preferred.
- Knowledge of UK accounting and tax practices beneficial.
