SAFETY AND SECURITY Professional Officer - Research Analyst

Requirements

  • A relevant three (3) year tertiary qualification in criminology, data

science, social science, public policy or other relevant field

  • Two (2) years' experience in a data analysis, research or related

environment, preferably in a law enforcement or public safety

context

  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a wide

range of audience, both verbally and in writing, in English.

Proficiency in one additional official language of the Western

Cape would be an advantage.

  • Advanced Computer Literacy
  • Driver's License (Code B or EB)
  • No criminal record

Key Performance Areas

  • Conducts rigorous research and data analysis to provide

actionable insights that inform strategic planning and decision

making within the directorate.

  • Designs and conducts evaluations to assess the effectiveness of

public safety programmes and interventions.

  • Support evaluations to assess the effectiveness of public safety

programmes and interventions and use these findings to support

the development of evidence-based policies.

  • Fosters effective working relationships and facilitates the transfer

of knowledge and skills.

  • Performs administrative duties of a more advanced nature and

renders support to specific functional areas.

  • Managing training and skills development and the transfer of

skills and knowledge.
