The Role We are seeking a bright, energetic, and motivated Senior Systems Administrator, who will report to the Tech Director (Infrastructure and Cyber security), to work as a member of the technical team, building the next generation of MFS Africa’s products and services. The position will be based in Johannesburg, South Africa. **You might be a good fit if you have**: Fluency in English, a dditional languages would be plus i.e. French Proficiency in Google cloud and AWS architecture and its VPN configurations **Duties and Responsibilities**: Install and configure Linux operating systems Manage and monitor network servers Deploy and configure MySQL databases Troubleshoot issues and outages by managing the Google Cloud infrastructure Managing and troubleshooting the VPN connections Higher Diploma or BSc in Computer Science or a related technical field Advanced knowledge and experience working with MySQL, and proficiency with Tomcat web server **Bonus**: e-commerce, online payments or banking/card payments experience Advanced knowledge in mail, apache, selinux configurations on linux boxes Linux server installation and hardening experience Advanced knowledge in TCP/IP networking Advance knowledge in Linux networking and iptables Basic Cisco server configuration and troubleshooting **Why work for us**: We are the cutting edge of fintech in Africa Ranked by Fast Company as Second Most Innovative Company in Africa Attractive package including flexible benefits and competitive remuneration Diverse, inclusive, gender-balanced company culture representing >28 nationalities and speaking >20 languages Massive growth potential We operate a flexible remote working and unlimited leave policy We solve relevant problems for Africa and the world to create access for the millions of users who also believe in what we do
