This is a hands-on, critical infrastructure role responsible for the security, reliability, and performance of all IT systems. If you're passionate about high-availability systems, cybersecurity, and enterprise-level support, this role offers both responsibility and room to grow.About the RoleAs Senior Systems Administrator, you'll manage company-wide networks, servers, backups, and security protocols. You’ll be instrumental in designing, maintaining, and optimising the organisation’s IT environment—both on-premises and in the cloud. This is a high-impact role that demands strong technical acumen and excellent problem-solving abilities in a dynamic business setting.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and optimise all IT infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, and serversImplement and manage robust cybersecurity frameworks including monitoring, patching, and user access controlsSteer and support cloud migration (Azure) and ongoing hybrid infrastructure strategiesConduct regular system backups and disaster recovery testingProvide user training and support documentationManage telephony infrastructure, vendor relationships, and software licensingLead performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and system improvementsCollaborate with IT leadership to define and enforce operational and security policiesWhat You’ll Bring3+ years' experience in infrastructure maintenance and supportIn-depth knowledge of cybersecurity best practicesStrong expertise in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANsMicrosoft Azure experience, including cloud migrationSolid understanding of SQL backups and disaster recovery planningFamiliarity with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault)Experience with virtualisation platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware)Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python)Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a teamNice to HaveBSc in Computer Science or related fieldCertifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Azure Admin, CCNA, or Security+Familiarity with tools like ManageEngine, SolarWinds, Zabbix, or NagiosExperience in the insurance or financial services sectorWhat’s On OfferCompetitive, market-related salaryPerformance-based annual bonusSubsidised Life and Disability CoverFuneral CoverCareer progression in a collaborative, innovative tech teamCompany CultureWatersEdge Solutions works with trusted organisations that prioritise operational excellence, resilience, and innovation.
