**Senior Town and Regional Planner - 6 Months Contract**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the overall design, development, and execution of the Spatial Development Framework in line with **SPLUMA** and municipal planning legislation.
- Manage team coordination, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Ensure integration with municipal strategic documents (IDP, LUMS, LED Strategy).
- Lead alignment with national and provincial directives such as the NSDF, IUDF, and PGDS.
- Provide strategic input on spatial restructuring, spatial targeting, growth management, and rural-urban integration.
- Direct all engagements with stakeholders, community structures, technical steering committees, and councillors.
- Compile and present reports, spatial scenarios, and draft SDF to Council and community forums.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Town and Regional Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or related field.

**Experience**
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in spatial planning and land use management.
- At least 3 SDF or IDP-aligned spatial planning projects completed as project lead.
- Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and engage with government stakeholders.

**Registration**:

- SACPLAN Registered Professional Planner (Pr. Pln)

**Job Type**: Temporary
Contract length: 6 months

**Experience**:

- spatial/town planning & land use management: 10 years (required)

License/Certification:

- SACPLAN Registered Professional Planner (Pr. Pln) (required)
