**TRANSPORTATION ACTIVITIES**
- Ensure vehicles are available and road worthy at all times.
- Develop maintenance program for vehicles and manage to plan.
- Ensure correct notices and signs as required for dangerous goods are available and displayed on trucks.
- Ensure requirements of the Quality Management system are implemented and adhered to.
- Liaise with sales personnel if delivery commitments cannot be fulfilled.
- Investigate customer complaints related to transportation and delivery.
- Liaise with production and distribution managers to determine transportation needs and priorities.
- Manage critical spares inventory for vehicles.
- Attend to breakdowns when required.
- BBS - Behaviour Based Safety
- Ensure C-Track system is operational on all vehicles and monitor against drivers hours and designated routes
- Manage the working hours of all Chemical Logistics employees and ensure working hours submitted to the accounts department and checked and align to C-Track.
- Monitor and record fuel usage on all vehicles. If vehicles show losses, investigate with the logistics controllers and provide feedback
- Set Drive-Cam objectives and ensure the logistics controllers meet the monthly objectives set.
- Oversee the Logistics control department, ensuring routes are cost effectively planned to prevent losses
- Liaise with customers to ensure continued business and relationships are maintained.
- Attract new business and customers which complement the transportation business and routes.
- Ensure all legal and statutory requirements are adhered too and met for Audits.

**SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL**
- Identify training and development needs for personnel.
- Performance management of personnel.
- Ensure sufficient human resources are available at all times.
- Ensure employees are trained on, safety, health, environment, quality and human resource policies and procedures applicable to their work.
- Recruit new employees in accordance with the relevant Human Resources Procedures.
- Evaluate the competency of new drivers in accordance with the relevant Human Resources Policy prior to employment.
- Manage the working hours of logistics personnel and ensure their hours worked are submitted to the accounts department for payment.
- Enforce company Human Resource Policies and Procedures in your department.

**SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT**
- Ensure requirements of the SHE system are implemented and adhered to.
- Report and investigate all incidents that involve any personnel and vehicles under your control.
- Ensure that the requirements for the transportation of dangerous goods are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure all vehicles carry the required safety and emergency equipment and that drivers are conversant in the use of this equipment.
- Generate maintenance schedules for vehicles and ensure the required records are completed as per the SHE System procedures.**Inherent Requirements**
- Grade 12 or equivalent technical qualification
- Diploma/Degree : Logistics & Supply Chain Management
- 2 years experience in a transportation and or distribution environment that includes vehicle maintenance.
