Marshall Security is seeking an energetic and organized Event Planner / Community Coordinator to manage and execute community events, brand awareness days, public activations, and more. You’ll be responsible for ensuring each event runs smoothly from start to finish - everything from permissions and logistics to budget management and inventory. You’ll be the on-the-ground ambassador for Marshall Security’s community engagement initiatives.

- Drives projects to completion with mínimal supervision; consistently seeks ways to enhance event impact and efficiency

**DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO**:
**Event Planning & Execution**:Plan and coordinate community events, golf days, brand activations, and other public-facing initiatives. Secure necessary permissions, permits, and venues. Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and community stakeholders.

**Inventory & Stock Management**:Track and maintain event-related stock, including branded materials, equipment, and promotional items. Oversee items that are borrowed, returned or sent for repairs.

**On-site Coordination**:Serve as the main point of contact on event days (often weekends). Set up and tear down event spaces as needed; ensure branding is displayed correctly.

**Budget and Reporting**:Manage event budgets and timelines, providing regular updates to the Marketing Manager. Track event metrics (attendance, engagement) and compile post-event reports.

**Weekend & Flexible Availability**:Be available to work weekends and occasional evenings for events and promotions. Coordinate with the marketing team to handle any last-minute changes or requirements.

**EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:
At least 2 years of event planning or community coordination experience. Strong organisational and project management skills. Proficiency in software (Microsoft Office, Project Management/Collaboration Tools, Canva) and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure situations. Willingness to work weekends/evenings. Familiarity with Durban North and surrounding areas is a plus.

**ADDITIONAL**:
Work Environment: Durban North office-based, with occasional travel to events or on-site filming. **KNOWLEDGE & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:
Grade 12

Must be fluent in English

Driver’s License

Event Management Qualification advantageous

Project Management Certification advantageous

Criminal Record Vetting Procedure

**REMUNERATION PACKAGE**:
Basic Salary (Levels 6-7) - dependent on experience
