We are a high-end events and catering company based in Durban. We pride ourselves in superior events and exceptional catering. We are looking for an experienced **Events Coordinator/Planner**.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Stay informed with industry standards and share new ideas with the team members.

Schedule appropriate vendor/supplier meetings for the operational aspects of coordinating the event/function, which includes pre-planning meetings or a pre-functions meeting for the customer and specific vendors.

Determine customer needs and sales potential

Take full brief from client, compile and send quotation within 24 hours

Devise menu with kitchen manager/chef when required

Assist with ideas for seasonal menus, theme menu,

Responsible for capturing new events and coordinating customer tastings, etc.

Be well versed in the companies policies and procedures and provide excellent customer service while adhering to those policies.

Attend site visits to review event needs and specifications.

Communicate last minute changes and requests to team, confirm with the client and update event order.

On site management of events/functions when necessary

Provide seamless management of events with very high-level customer service.

Qualifications:
Have a least 3-5 years hotel/event manager/banqueting experience

Superior quantitative, oral and written communications and problem-solving/strategizing skills

Excellent overall computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

Creative flair

Chef qualification and/or experience advantageous

Exceptional customer service abilities

Effective stress management

Willing to work overtime/weekends/public holidays when necessary
