Quality Control Supervisor

**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Supervise QC Operations**: Lead the daily activities of the QC team in the Injection Moulding and PET departments to ensure adherence to quality standards and production timelines.
- **Conduct Inspections and Testing**: Oversee visual and dimensional inspections of preforms, caps, closures, and bottles during production, ensuring consistency and compliance with specifications.
- **Develop and Maintain QC Procedures**: Create, implement, and regularly update QC procedures and work instructions for the quality department, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence.
- **Monitor Production Quality**: Ensure that all products meet established quality standards through real-time monitoring of the production process, identifying defects, and implementing corrective actions.
- **Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)**: Investigate non-conformance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Lead weekly NCR meetings with the QC team to review reports and follow-up on actions.
- **Collaborate with Departments**: Work closely with Production, Sales, and Maintenance teams to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and provide technical support as needed.
- **Train and Mentor QC Staff**: Provide ongoing training and support to the QC team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform inspections and quality checks effectively.
- **Implement Continuous Improvement Initiatives**: Drive continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality, reducing waste, and improving production efficiency.
- **Ensure Compliance**: Ensure all products comply with regulatory standards (e.g., food-grade PET requirements), industry guidelines, and customer-specific needs. **Report compliance matters regularly to the Head of Compliance**.
- **Equipment Maintenance and Calibration**: Ensure all testing and inspection equipment is regularly maintained and calibrated according to internal procedures.
**Key Requirements**:
- **Education**: Diploma or degree in Quality Management, Polymer Technology or a related field.
- **Experience**: Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control within a plastic packaging manufacturing environment, with a strong background in injection moulding and PET.
- **Leadership Skills**: Proven experience in leading a quality control team, with a focus on mentoring and team development.
- **Technical Skills**: Strong knowledge of quality control systems, including defect analysis and quality assurance tools.
- **Regulatory Knowledge**: Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations related to Plastic manufacturing.
- **Analytical Skills**: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
- **Communication Skills**: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and provide regular reports to the Head of Compliance.
- **Problem-Solving**: Experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving in a manufacturing environment.
