We looking for an experienced Quality Control Operator who will be reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the Operator is responsible for the testing incoming, in-process and finished products. The purpose of testing materials is to determine whether product comply with set specification.

**Duties**:

- Perform a Job Hazard Analysis for all tasks and ensure Manager’s approval before execution of activities
- Implement the 5s principle within the laboratory area and ensure that sustainability is achieved
- Remain abreast of the material safety data sheets for all products at all times
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program
- Work with the Safety Department to investigate damage, incidents or near misses in the workplace
- Perform reliable and accurate test, communicate the results timeously and ensure that they are performed according to the relevant procedure.
- Ensure that equipment verification is performed as per the schedule (pH meter, Hydrometer, scales etc.) and communicate with the line manager should the equipment fall out of calibration.
- Follow approved test methods as disseminated by Local & Corporate procedure.
- Issue Non-conformance for product failures that may take place, or matters that fall out of procedures
- When performing the relevant function, ensure to follow the sampling plan disseminated by the Manager
- Verify re-works in production and recycling of correct products (Production formula verification)
- Timeously communicate all results according to the internal procedure
- Ensure retarder/ superplasticizer results are communicated in time (Production schedule & sampling plan)
- Lab batch preparations
- Perform the necessary laboratory preparations and full participation during industrial testing
- Perform production mixer inspections when the Operations team is producing critical products
- Submit/upload the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) to Logistics department within the required time
- Perform product testing as per specifications provided (Acceptance tests)
- Conduct complementary tests within the timeframe required and communicate with your manager. Ensure no late crushing or pull-off testing is done as to ensure the results of the tests are accurate.
- Perform quality control testing for Liquid products (Liquid plant & Pre-blends)
- Perform quality control testing for Powder products (Powder plant & Guerze machine)
- Ensure incoming, outgoing, in process and finished products are controlled and tested as per specifications
- Enter the test results into the Quality Control Application after testing on a daily basis
- Send finished product samples to Headquarters on a quarterly basis
- Ensure that powder product samples for a minimum of 3 months and liquid product samples for 6 months
- Monitor all laboratory conditions ensuring that they are kept in line with specifications (Temperature & Humidity)
- Participate on internal & External audits when required
- Collect and/or prepare samples for analysis as per procedure
- Assist the Operations team with monthly stock taking and filling of inventory list
- Manage the usage of all laboratory consumables (Gloves, Dust masks etc ), ensuring that wastage is kept to a minimum

**Qualification & Experience**:

- Technical Certificate in Civil Engineering Technology or related qualification
- 2 years previous working experience in a QC laboratory
- Knowledge of testing procedures and road construction materials is an asset

**Personal requirements;**

- Beginner to intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word, Project, Outlook
- Intermediate computer skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary

**Salary**: R16,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month
