- To lead, integrate and align the development of an inbound and outbound logistics tactical strategy, delivery plan and practice formulation, to enable tactical translation and operational implementation that enables a high performance culture, client satisfaction, reduced risk and compliance to regulatory and legislative requirements.- The operation involves multiple distribution centres and cross-docks nationally with 330000 square metres of warehousing, a fleet of 395 vehicles and a staff compliment of 3 028. Operations are of a high risk/security nature. Is responsible for the site safety program and ensures that the environment supports the safety of all employees- Key Performance Areas:
- Formulate governance and compliance models and frameworks for a function/operations in order to identify and manage risk liabilities.- Align strategies and objectives for a function/operation according to knowledge gained from reports and analysis.- Formulate and develop functional/operational framework that positively contribute to the achievement of organisational objective- Implement and manage workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward and recognition and employee relations to ensure an optimal working environment- Create an engaging, enabling and productive work climate aligned to the employee value proposition by demonstrating leadership through personal commitment to organisational values.- Formulate functional/operational budget to ensure that the strategic deliverables are adequately budgeted for.- Establish and maintain a network of sustainable stakeholder relationships- Formulate integrated service delivery frameworks to ensure exceptional stakeholder service.-
**Inherent Requirements**
- Post-graduate diploma or professional registration (NQF LEVEL 8)- Proven track record of Logistics Operations Management at very senior level, involving multiple distribution centres and cross-docks nationally, large capacity warehousing, large fleet of vehicles and staff compliment.- Advanced budgeting and cost management- Advanced business and operations management- Advanced people management and development- Advanced Warehouse operations management- Proficient labour relations procedures- Behavioural Competency:
