The University of Western Cape’s Directorate of Institutional Advancement and its Alumni Relations Unit is seeking to employ an Alumni Relations Coordinator to join the team.

**Reporting to the Manager: Alumni Relations, the Coordinator : Alumni Relations will be responsible for**:

- Promote Alumni Relations and volunteer opportunities
- Help maintain a positive relationship with UWC Alumni Chapters and Networks
- Facilitate interaction between students [Pre-Alumni]and Alumni
- Contribute to the fundraising objective of the Alumni Office
- Oversee annual Alumni projects and events
- Promote faculty engagement with Alumni
- Collaborate with the Alumni Database Officer in tracking UWC Alumni
- Produce written alumni content for publication on UWC Alumni communication platforms
- Track and report communication statistics to evaluate Alumni Relations’ social media presence
- Maintain Alumni records on DevMan

**Minimum Requirements**

**Minimum Requirements **(Qualification and Experience):

- A relevant Bachelor’s degree qualification at an NQF7 or an equivalent qualification in the Arts, Management or Communication
- 5 years relevant experience preferably in Advancement in a Higher Education environment
- 3 years’ experience with media / creative writing [across all media platforms]

**Required competencies** (skills, knowledge and behavioural attributes):

- Knowledge of Alumni Relations and building relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of the Higher Education environment
- A proven fundraiser in the higher education / NGO sector/s
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to project manage and take initiative in all Alumni activities
- Work evenings and weekends, and travel as required
- Ability to work independently, and to thrive in a team environment to achieve institutional goals-
