Reports to the Holding Freezer Supervisor and Factory Manager
**JOB PURPOSE**
To manage the holding freezer computerized stock and inventory system by analysing supply chain data, ensuring stock availability, placing orders from other departments and cost centres, transferring, and booking in stock and the booking out and issuing of stock.
**ROUTINE TASKS DUTIES**
- Operating the forklift.
- Ensuring that the forklift is operating properly. Report faulty machinery to the relevant personnel or supervisor, no matter how small.
- Ensure that you are wearing clean undamaged protective clothing as per company policy.
- Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock.
- Enter order details into internal Meat Matrix database.
- Placing and receiving orders to replenish stocks as needed.
- Coordinating stock control operations with the Holding freezer supervisor, cold store and receiving staff, production management, as well as the sales and finance departments.
- Tracking shipments and coordinating internal stock transfers, as well as resolving delays.
- Ensure traceability of all individual stock items by assisting the receiving clerk in labelling all individual stock items with the Meat matrix bar coded label.
- Overseeing stock storage processes, including tagging, boxing, and labelling.
- Maintaining a steady flow of stock and capturing of stock from storage to where it is needed.
- Performing regular inventory audits and stock taking counts.
- Ensure stock rotation when selecting products from the Holding Freezer - First in First out.
- Pack and plan stock packing in such a manner that old stock can be used before new stock.
- Ensure products are checked for deviations from quality standards such as labels, lot or batch numbers and packaging.
- Ensure good housekeeping practises in the Holding Freezer.
- Implement and maintain measures to reduce wastage of and damage to stock being stored in the Holding freezer.
- Ensure that temperature controls for the cold store, receiving and dispatch area and all products stored are within legal limits.
- Report all temperature non-conformances to Holding Freezer Supervisor or Factory Manager.
**QUALITY, FOOD SAFETY AND HEALTH & SAFETY.**
- Maintain food safety procedures and requirements in the Holding Freezer.
- Maintain quality policies, procedures, and requirements in the Holding Freezer and for all products in this area.
- Maintain Health & Safety legal requirements plus company procedures in the Holding Freezer area.
- Assist in ensuring that all food safety, health and safety and quality documents are completed timeously.
**EQUIPMENT**
- Ensure that all equipment and utensils in your area are clean and in good working order.
- Assist the Holding Freezer Supervisor with preventative and planned maintenance of the Holding Freezer area.
- Report any necessary repair and maintenance of the Holding Freezer.
- Ensure that the forklift is operating properly.
- Report faulty machinery as per maintenance procedure to the Holding Freezer Supervisor or Factory manager.
**GENERAL**
- Identify and report any stock shortages.
- Clean work area before breaks and at the end of each working day
**HOUSEKEEPING**
- Ensure that your work areas are clean, neat and tidy at all times.
- Ensure that your work areas are left in a clean and neat condition at the end of every working day.
- Ensure that all stock is stored inside the Holding Freezer at the end of every shift.
**KEY PERFORMANCE**
- Any shortfalls in products, orders or pallets coming through to the Holding Freezer to be reported to the Holding Freezer Supervisor or Factory Manager immediately.
- Minimize damage by controlling stacking and storing actions on a daily basis.
- Capturing Meat Matrix data and relevant additional documented information.
- Ensuring that relevant documentation is attached to finalised Meat Matrix documents.
- Assist in filing of Holding Freezer records.
- No products to be stacked without being captured on the Meat Matrix system, correct labelling and marked paperwork in place.
- Ensure that all goods and completed orders are stacked neatly and on time.
- Ensure that quality standards are maintained.
**STOCK TAKING**
- Assist with month - end stock take in your work area.
**OTHER**
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as instructed and requested by the Holding Freezer Supervisor or Factory manager.
**Salary** - R 1 500 - R2 000 per week
