**Job Overview**:
The position will be based at **Seriti New Denmark Colliery **and the incumbent will report to the **Site Manager.**

Ensure that Joy is perceived as the leading supplier of underground mining systems and services by providing exceptional customer support.

**Key Job Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that Joy is perceived as the leading supplier of underground mining systems and services by providing exceptional customer support;
- Ensure optimum performance of Joy equipment in terms of safety, productivity, and reliability;
- Ensure that Joy has current and relevant market and technical intelligence by actively gathering information and communicating it back into the organization;
- Maintaining Zero harm, incident, and accident-free environment. It is the individual’s responsibility to comply to all relevant legislative and JOYGLOBAL requirements. (HR,Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Mine Health and Safety Act);
- Maintain / repair Joy equipment;
- Conduct daily pre-maintenance and inspections;
- Customer support in terms of safety, breakdowns, coaching and to achieve lowest cost per ton;
- Drive productivity improvement and quality work performance;
- Conduct frequent needs analysis within Mine sections to identify gaps and opportunities for optimization;
- Provide technical support to other Field Service Technicians and Customer;
- Write clear reports that are factual and understandable.

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- Matric / N3;
- Fully qualified Electrician / Millwright with Flameproof and Gas Testing certificates;
- Drivers’ license and own reliable transport;
- Must have done Joy relevant courses;
- Must be computer and database literate (MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint);
- JNA I and JNA II and VFD experience is crucial;
- DC & AC shuttle cars experience will be an advantage;
- Minimum of 05 years’ experience on underground equipment;
- High level knowledge and experience of Joy mining equipment;
- Experience in workshop assembly and manufacturing techniques will be beneficial.
- Must be willing to work shifts, standby’s and abnormal hours at times and be available outside normal working hours as and when required.

- Strong interpersonal skills are essential with an ability to communicate with customers and to accept and adopt a competent, responsible attitude
- Ability to communicate with top level people (Engineers, Shaft Management, etc.);

- Willing and able to work alone and in teams;
- Must be residing or willing to relocate to Secunda, Trichardt or Evander.
