**PURPOSE OF JOB**

To provide support to Head Chef and Assist in all areas of the kitchen operation.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Wash and clean utensils and dishes, return to kitchen and make sure they are store appropriately.

Clean food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas.

Clean up spillages when they occur.

Dispose of rubbish

Ensure proper use of chemical/cleaning products and ensure they are stored appropriately.

Follow all hygiene and Health and Safety regulations within the kitchen.

Assist chef in the preparation and cooking of food as per Sweetbeet standard.

Follow direction towards portion control, cooking standards and wastage.

Have complete knowledge of contents of each menu item.

Ensure that all food served is of high standard and of correct temperature.

Ensure all items used are clean and in good condition.

Report any accidents, theft, loss or damage to the Manager.

Perform all duties with required speed and efficiency.

Adhere to company rules and regulations.

Wear the prescribed uniform and when on duty.

Ensure the highest standard of personal hygiene.

Be at work timeously daily.

To help in any way at functions which may occur.

To attend meetings, training and courses as stipulated by Management.

To assist others and relieve in their duties if equipped with knowledge and if required.

To remove and collect refuse when and if required.

Display a strong team player attitude and have patience with fellow employees.

Adhere to the company rules and regulations at all times.

Be attentive and anticipate customer needs.

**REQUIREMENTS**

Grade 12 / Matric qualification

Previous work experience in a quick service restaurant environment.

Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.

Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.

Be able to work in a high pressured environment.

Take pride in personal appearance and hygiene.

Good understanding of customer service and hospitality principles.

Be able to perform as an individual, as well as excel as part of a team.

Passionate, driven and self-motivated individual, with a love for food.

Have a good understanding of food handler’s hygiene and adhere to at all times.

Be willing and able to openly interact with customers.
