The Kitchen Hand is responsible for all areas pertaining to the kitchen and ensures that these areas to be cleaned to perfection and that all amenities/chemicals are in a safe place. He/She will take pride in the Hotel and in particular the Kitchen and will support the chefs in all areas to be cleaned. This position requires the employee to adhere to any reasonable instruction requested by the senior chefs, the Executive Chef and the General Manager. There would be occasions that the incumbent would have to work outside this scope due to operational needs.

Other responsibilities include:

Ensures that all areas of the kitchen are cleaned to the highest standard Adhere to the basics of cleaning i.e. A B. C of cleaning areas

Attention to detail

Understand the correct use of chemicals Responsible for chemicals, equipment Assist colleagues when you can

Adhere to hotel procedures

Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene Maintain a professional appearance

Complete cleaning of pots, utensils and other kitchen equipment to the highest standard Ensure that there is always clean plates, utensils and other equipment readily available for stafi Report any maintenance issues to the supervisor

Basic knowledge of health and safety Basic knowledge of the use of chemicals

**Requirements**:
Matric certificate (Grade 12)

National Diploma in Hospitality or similar qualification 2 years+ experience in a similar position

Well-groomed and able to present themselves in a professional manner Must be prepared to work shifts

**Job Types**: Temporary, Temp to perm

**Salary**: From R25.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:
